INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS The Royal Montrose Golf
Club, which was instituted in 1810, welcomes Lady, Men, Student and
Junior members. The Club is run by a council of
up to fourteen elected members appointed at the Annual General Meeting in
February of each year. At present there is no
waiting list for membership, and no entry fee is charged to; current members of
other Montrose golf clubs, Spouses/Partners of existing Royal Montrose members, Student and Junior members, returning former
members of Royal Montrose Golf Club or International Members. Otherwise
there is a Joining Fee of £115. Current rates of Annual
Subscription are as
follows: - · Ordinary Membership; Adults residing within 50 miles of Montrose - £120 · International Membership; Adults residing outside the United Kingdom - £120 · Country Membership; Adults residing more than 50 miles from Montrose - £105 · Life Membership; Senior Members aged over 65 and having 25 years continuous membership - £66 · Student Membership; Young persons over aged 18 in full-time education - £32 · Junior Membership; Young persons under 18 - Free for 2010 season There are a limited number
of lockers available to members at an annual rental of £21 (Juniors £16). Application forms can be

Application Form All applications require to
be supported by two existing members, with the exception of those from
International Applicants where the endorsement of an official of their home
Golf Club or other sporting Club will be accepted. (See application form for
details). Applications, once received
will be displayed on the Club notice board for at least 14 days before being
considered by the Club Council at their meetings which are normally held on
the third Monday of each month. Competitions are run
throughout the year on both the Medal and Broomfield courses. In addition to the Club
Championship, the Club also runs numerous Adult and Junior Matchplay
competitions throughout the season, and submits teams to County Golf
Association events. A very
active
Senior Men’s section play over 20 'Home and Away' matches against other Senior clubs
in Angus, Fife and Aberdeenshire. All members holding a
current valid handicap are eligible to take part in these club events, subject to
selection for inter-club matches, and partners can normally be found for
Country and International members not holding a Montrose Golf Links Season
Ticket. Information on season tickets can be found at
www.montroselinks.co.uk. The Clubhouse is normally
open from 6.30 am to 11 pm. In the summer the bar
opening hours are generally 11 am to 11 pm seven days per week. In winter the bar and
catering is usually closed all day Monday and Tuesdays and early closing at
5pm on Sundays, unless for parties or club events. Members are permitted
to introduce up to three guests at any one time, whose names and addresses
should be entered in the visitors’ book. There is a fairly informal
dress code in operation which requires that members and their guests should
dress with a degree of conventionality. Details of unacceptable
items of dress are on the Club notice boards. The Club’s catering
facilities are franchised and open to members and their guests and visiting
golfers throughout the year. Evening and large group meals should be
booked in advance. If
