On Tuesday 22nd June 2010 Jonathan Penn of Faversham Golf Club was presented with a bottle of whisky by Club Captain Brian Ritchie for holing his tee shot on the 154 yard par 3, 3rd hole of Montrose Medal course using a 7 iron.

Jonathan was playing the course as part of the Volvo Masters Amateur Tour with 37 players playing Carnoustie, Panmure Barry and Montrose.

The format of the Volvo Masters allows all golfers who have a club handicap to enter as a pair scoring better ball stableford with 3/4 handicap allowance.  For full details of their events log onto www.volvogolf.co.uk.

The Tour is played over 33 courses which includes fantastic courses such as Royal St Georges, Celtic Manor, Carnoustie, Royal Birkdale, St Pierre, Woburn, The K-Club, The Carrick, Loch Lomond and Wentworth.  The leading four competitors after the last event qualify for the Volvo UK Final at Vale Do Lobo, Algarve on 29th October - 1st November 2010.
