Playing Golf

Club members play golf over the Montrose Links, which is home to the 18 hole Championship (Medal) course and the shorter but still challenging 18 hole Broomfield course.

Club Membership

The Royal Montrose Golf Club welcomes Lady, Men, Student and Junior members. There is no waiting list for membership, and no entry fee. The Membership Year runs from 1st April to 31st March.

It should be noted that Country, International, Associate and Junior Members have no voting rights within the Club.

Membership Classes

The following classes of membership are available: –

  • Ordinary: Adults over 25 years.
  • Intermediate: Adults over 18 years and under 25 years.
  • Student: Persons over age of 18 in full-time education.
  • Junior – 3: Young persons between 8 and 18 years.
  • Junior – 2: Young persons between 6 and 8 years.
  • Junior – 1: Young persons under 6 years.
  • Associate: This is a “Non-golfing membership” that allows access to social activities and the Club Bar and Restaurant.

The following classes of membership are open to persons residing more than 20 miles from Montrose: –

  • Country: Adults, 25 years and over living more than 20 miles from Montrose.
  • International: Adults, 25 years and over living outside the UK.

A limited number of equipment lockers are available to members at an annual rental.

Completed application forms must be submitted to the Honorary Secretary together with a cheque for the first year’s fees.
